Practical poise for health and well-being

Mark Wildsmith is an Alexander Technique teacher based in Cambridge.

The Alexander Technique is well known for it's long term benefits for sufferers of back pain and other posture related difficulties.  It is an enlivening and practical skill that can relieve stress and prevent unnecessary tension.  Many people find a sense of well-being with improvements in areas such as mobility, co-ordination, breathing, circulation, performance and creativity.

A study published in the BMJ shows that the Alexander Technique can help back pain. See this article in the Guardian, and the original study here - BMJ Online
